X-Men: Days Of Future Past Preview To Be Shown At The End Of Amazing Spider-Man 2

Jay Cochran - April 16, 2014
Empire reports that folks who stay through the end of the credits for Sony's Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie, which opened in UK theaters today and will hit US theaters on May 2 will get to see a special preview scene for 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past, which opens in theaters here in the US on May 23.

The scene will feature Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, Lucas Till's Havok and Evan Jonigkeit's Toad taking on William Stryker (Josh Helman) and his military men.

This isn't a traditional post-credit scene like we have become accustomed to in Marvel movies, laying the ground work for some type of crossover between the two franchises. It's just a preview to help promote that later released film. Never-the-less perhaps this will open doors to see more cooperation between the different studios that have a hand in the Marvel Universe pie. Originally there had been talk we might see an Oscorp building appear in the backdrop of Marvel Studio's first Avengers movie, but apparently negotiations for that broke down. Honestly I never understood the reluctance of these studios to work closely together to make their Marvel movies part of a more cohesive universe. For instance we have the character of Quicksilver appearing in both 20th Century Fox's X-Men movie and in Marvel Studio's Avengers 2 movie. Yet because of some silly wording in a contract, Quicksilver can't be called a Mutant in the Avengers movie nor can it be mentioned he is the son of Magneto. Why this is, I don't know. Making a stronger connection between the two movies would only provide more incentive for me to see both movies, not less, but maybe that's just me?
