Within the pages of
Empire's latest issue, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige talked about Guardians Of The Galaxy, and where it falls into the Marvel time-line of movies, the main villains and the different characters in the movie.
The Guardians Of The Galaxy movie itself will be more of a stand-alone film where it's connected to other worlds and it's all about exploring the other side of the existing Marvel Universe. The fact that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is a human from our time, that he carries a personal cassette recorder with him, already it’s very different. The film also falls into the Phase Two films where it won't be revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films. But yes, it’s the same time. The movie will have two villains where Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace) is very much the main bad guy with Thanos lurking above it all. Thanos will be in the movie and not just as a "one turn-around-and-smirk" approach. You’ll get much more than that.
