Hey day chuck. Could you be able to put more articulation in the marvel figures? Also could we be seeing any 6 inch starwars figures and please please do some dc figures like a dc select.

DSTChuck: Sorry Oli but there is no chance we’ll be able to do 6” Star Wars figures. Hasbro pretty much has that all locked up and a company like DST would never be able to produce such a wide spread of characters like Hasbro does. Same goes for DC figures. Between DC Direct and Mattel they have the market covered. Right now we limit Marvel Select to 16 point of articulation and we think that strikes a good balance between the look of the figure and the pose ability of the toy.

Hi, i´m a big fan of your MS line, I think Gambit, Magneto, Deadpool and Juggernaut are great figures but why do you change the base of abomination and the thing? please don´t change the display base of magneto and deadpool, and you say deadpool had a lot of weapons, in the pictures i see only 2 guns, that´s is lame, i really like to see the MS beast and apocalypse, i believe if you made an apocalypse figure you will sell out!!! thank´s for your amazing figures

DSTChuck: Very early in the production of the Abomination and Thing we discovered to produce a figure that large and keep the price the same, something had to go. We really didn’t want to sacrifice size or paint applications, so we figured the best thing to do was remove or simplify the base. Magneto and Deadpool are already in production so they will not change at this point. Deadpool comes with two katana swords, two pistols, a machine gun, two Sai, and a couple attached knives.

Hi! I am not constantly in the loop for MS figures but I am just wondering why Cyclops didn’t come out this year? (Hence Thing and Abomination came our earlier than Cyke) It was published in previews last 2009, and one of the toy sites I visited, it’ll come out in Feb.2011? Diamond Select Toys site seemed not updated as well with its release READ: release date june 2010. Are we expecting the release of Magneto, Deadpool and Juggernaut right on schedule? I’m a huge fan and collector and would definitely appreciate knowing the details! Thanks!

DSTChuck: Sammy, yes we are sorry some of the new figures are running late. We fell behind in production but all are well on the way now and we expect no further delays. Cyclops and Deadpool should be out in December and Juggernaut and Magneto should be out in January.

James Clements
Hey what’s up guys? I was wondering if you guys were planning on making marvel select action figures of colossus, rogue, beast, storm, archangel, a Steve Rogers Captain America, apocalypse, cable and 90’s bishop?

DSTChuck: Hey James, we’re all just settling back in from NYCC and getting the final push going for this year’s products. I can tell you some of the figures you are listing have been considered and at least one of them will be coming to stores in 2011.

Gar Crispell
Does the cancellation of Marvel Legends improve your sales of Marvel Select?

DSTChuck: I was not aware that they were never going to make more Marvel Legends figures. I think that it’s a great line and if anything I would think it would cause the sales on Select to drop. The thinking being Legends being available to more people keeps the interest going in Marvel figures and long terms something like that can only help a collector brand.

Just picked up your Exploding Stay-Puft bank today. It’s awesome, and a terrific compliment to the original. Are you still planning on releasing the Blue Glow “Happy” version? I feel like my collection isn’t quite complete without it. What kind of timeframe can fans expect to see the Blue Glow version? Any more variants of the Stay-Puft Bank planned? Thanks so much!

DSTChuck: Matthew the blue GID version was released at this year’s NYCC and we had some left after the show and those are available on our web site.

Any consideration given to a Ghost Trap Bank? Thanks!

DSTChuck: YES very serious consideration has been given to that item.

Matt Theis

I was wondering how often you will be coming out with the new Universal Monsters series? I thought I read somewhere that these will only be coming out once a year at this time. I came across them at my Toys r’ Us and really like them and would like to upkeep on collecting this line.

DSTChuck:
Matt you are correct our plan is that the Universal Monster line will come out once a year- in time for Halloween.

Big fan of Marvel Select! Do the “Danger Room” bases that come with Gambit and Cyclops interconnect to make a bigger display? If I buy mutliple figures, will I be able to connect more than two bases to make my huge Danger Room? The Thor figure was great! Any plans for a battle armor Thor based on Walt Simonson’s design? Would be a great tie in with that Simonson Omnibus! Unlike other Marvel Select release that sometimes get announced 8 to 10 months before release, your “Iron Man 2″ movie figures were released shortly after you announced them. Is it safe to surmize you have Captain America and Thor movie figures in the works? Or at least comic versions of X-men year one? Finally, please, please, please - more classic comicbook styled figures! Lately, we’ve seen nearly the entire core roster of Marvel - though I’d love to see what you do with Human Torch and a flame base, Mr. Fantastic, Beast, Jim Lee’s Jean Grey, Odin with a throne, Lockjaw and the pet Avengers, more, more, more!

DSTChuck: Paul, yes you will be able to display Gambit and Cyclops side by side for a mini diorama but I do not think it will work beyond that unless you just use the back (no side) piece and use it as a center sections. Right now there are no plans for a Simonson styled Thor figure, sorry. I think the reason the IM2 release was so close to the announcement was that we are not allowed to show movie based product until the studio says it is ok , so we don’t ruin any of their marketing efforts.

Tom Henry
Howdy! I’ve never seen this mentioned, so i apologize if the question is redundant, but will there be a Bela Lugosi Dracula included in the monsters line? Thanks!

DSTChuck: We will be doing a Dracula as part of series two but it will not be a specific actor’s likeness.
